Fearsome Fish Oil Failures

Fish oil is great, there are benefits...go read this website because I don't want to do the work of regurgitating already good information and plagiarism isn't my style.

So good things right?!

Well fish oil isn't all that it's cracked up to be.  When the rubber meets the road there are some downsides.

Taste

Fish oil tastes like licking a dead fish that's fermented in the noonday sun.  Once you've swallowed the greasy nutrient you think it's all over...WRONG.  It keeps tasting bad.  You burp, the fish oil mocks, "Oh hello there!  Remember how bad I taste?  Yep, still taste bad.  Bye!"  And that happens as many times as you burp.

Smell

Jazzed up from a killer workout, I feverishly poured the fish oil onto a spoon to consume...because I'm sooooooooo healhy.  In my haste I spilled fish oil all over my workout hoodie.  The repulsive fumes clung to the fabric until I was forced to trash said hoodie.

The lesson is to be less jittery or simply take fish oil pills.  You decide.

May fish oil help you and not haunt you.

Bologna Lies

I'm full of bologna!

What a bunch of big talk about getting in shape during Coronavirus.  I'm a fraud.  A fat loss phony.

I've not worked out consistently.  Have I ever?

I console myself with the thought that no one is reading this, so I'm not REALLY doing any harm to anybody.  BUT by mistake someone could accidentally read this...and boy would they be disappointed.

I'm at 276 right now.  Will it ever change?  Will I ever change?  Will I ever get my act together?

I guess there is always tomorrow, but maybe not, who knows what could happen?

I have more questions than weight loss success right now.

Stay safe out there!

Wedding Weight Loss Plans Become Covid-19 Goals

Hello vast empty internet,

I thought I was going to ramble about how I wanted to lose weight for a wedding that my wife was going to be in at the end of May 2020.  Well...things have changed!  The world is now shut down due to coronavirus.  I do not anticipate going to the wedding in May, even though we are two months out.

Now my weight loss is about burning off nervous energy during these days of limited movement.

Going for walks and doing some body weight workouts has already yielded results.  It's also helpful working at home where we don't have sugary treats sitting about like I do at work.

For a long time stuck at 280, but recently I've dropped to 274.5 with the recent changes forced by coronavirus.

My Routine

  • Walking - the beauty of walking is that it can be done daily because it's not too strenuous.  What I like to do is go for walks especially after a body weight workout to break up soreness.
  • Body Weight Workout - it's simply movements with only your body weight.  There are a variety of movements that you can do without any weights!  Yay!

Squats

Push Ups

Sit Ups

Lunges

I just burn out on each one, then move to the next.  I'll do three or four cycles and then tap out.  I do this every other day or so.

Go get it... while staying safe at your homestead.

Another Thanksgiving of Binge Eating

So I ate a bunch of food over the Thanksgiving weekend.  No restraint.  None whatsoever.

If it's got corn syrup or gravy on it, then I'm eating that.  Probably 2 or 3 servings of whatever "that" is...

Anywhoo...

Now I decide to weigh myself after a binge eating free fall.  Bad idea, I know this, but I do it anyway.

The damage: 288.2 pounds!

So posting again and thinking I need to workout.

Will this actually happen?

I hope so, because I will be attending a wedding in May.  So this is the push, to slim down for a wedding spectacle.

Flexibility is so elusive

I'm not flexible.

I believe this is causing problems for me.  Phantom injuries that occur over night, no physical activity involved.  I'm just so tightly wound my sinews snap in the night as I re-position.

I really should stretch more often...it's just hard to get into stretching.  I fear that I'll look ridiculous.

And if people ask me what I'm doing at the gym I'll have nothing to say other than, "oh, I'm really getting into stretching.  I need to cut down on my sleeping injuries."

Which will gather a response something like this...

My only course of action will be to scream, "DON'T JUDGE ME!" and run out of the gym.

I still won't be flexible.  Sleeping injuries continue to occur.  Vicious cycle.

Getting Fat Again...

Upon completion of my last weight loss challenge I reached 288 pounds from 308, which was great.

The problem is I've already ballooned back up to 297 after taking a break from the competition...

The roller coast of weight loss success/failure continues...

Time to get back into the healthy lifestyle of eating healthy and exercise.

Week 7: Weigh In

So I missed a bunch of weeks, but I'm happy to announce to nobody in particular (nobody reads this) that success has been occurring.

Weight - 290 pounds
Total Lost - 18.6 pounds

There's one more week of this work competition.  If success continues I'll break into the 280's!  Time to finish strong.
