No fitness goals for 2021...maybe

It's a new year...a month ago.  I'm not a timely type person.  I'm busy.  Which is part of my physical fitness hurdles.

How many years can come and go with lofty goals, yet next to nothing is achieved?  At least one more.

We should respect the realist that does not make a fitness goal only to have it covered in junk food crumbs.

Weight: 275 pounds

My typical goal is that I want to lose 30 pounds and get into the 240's, yet here we are.  So we know how effective those goals have been executed.

When goals are just things that you want, but not actions you take, pigs fly and dreams die.

I wish I could ride a rainbow to physical fitness and find a pot of gold.

Instead of goals here is a list of things that I maybe will possibly try to do:

Basketball

Twice a week I'll play some recreation basketball.  Unless I don't.

6 Minutes of Really Slow Push-Ups

I read a book that claims six minutes of working out really slow should burn out your muscles and be sufficient for your weekly workouts.  I'm going to try it.

Wish me luck...

Wedding Weight Loss Plans Become Covid-19 Goals

Hello vast empty internet,

I thought I was going to ramble about how I wanted to lose weight for a wedding that my wife was going to be in at the end of May 2020.  Well...things have changed!  The world is now shut down due to coronavirus.  I do not anticipate going to the wedding in May, even though we are two months out.

Now my weight loss is about burning off nervous energy during these days of limited movement.

Going for walks and doing some body weight workouts has already yielded results.  It's also helpful working at home where we don't have sugary treats sitting about like I do at work.

For a long time stuck at 280, but recently I've dropped to 274.5 with the recent changes forced by coronavirus.

My Routine

  • Walking - the beauty of walking is that it can be done daily because it's not too strenuous.  What I like to do is go for walks especially after a body weight workout to break up soreness.
  • Body Weight Workout - it's simply movements with only your body weight.  There are a variety of movements that you can do without any weights!  Yay!

Squats

Push Ups

Sit Ups

Lunges

I just burn out on each one, then move to the next.  I'll do three or four cycles and then tap out.  I do this every other day or so.

Go get it... while staying safe at your homestead.
